NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC KIDS ENTERTAINMENT SECURES TELEVISION SERIES DEVELOPMENT RIGHTS FOR JERDINE NOLEN'S 'PLANTZILLA'
WASHINGTON (May 31, 2007)--National Geographic Kids Entertainment has secured the television development rights to award-winning author Jerdine Nolen's popular children's book "Plantzilla," it was announced today by Donna Friedman Meir, president of National Geographic Kids Entertainment.Nolen and David Catrow, illustrator of the book's exotic and colorful backdrops, have joined with writer Mark Drop and the creative team at National Geographic to help develop the on-screen version of "Plantzilla" for television. The new animated series will be aimed at kids aged 6-11.A highly acclaimed author and educator, Nolen is the creative genius behind several award-winning children's books, including "Raising Dragons," which received the Christopher Award, and "Harvey Potter's Balloon Farm," recipient of the Kentucky Bluegrass Award. Nolen will contribute to the creative development for the television series based on "Plantzilla."David Catrow is the award-winning illustrator of over 60 books for children, including the recent New York Times bestseller "Ain't Gonna Paint No More" and the perennial favorite "Take Me Out of the Bathtub." His political cartoons have been syndicated to over 900 newspapers and magazines across the country. Catrow's artistic vision perfectly complements Nolen's comical story of friendship between a young boy and his plant. "The story very literally grew on me like crabgrass," Catrow says of Nolen's manuscript.Catrow will participate in development of the television series alongside Drop, whose recent writing credits include "Kim Possible," "Lilo&Stitch: The Series," "Dave the Barbarian" and "Danny Phantom." Drop also has developed other projects for Nickelodeon.Drawing inspiration from the book, the series will follow the adventures of Mortimer Henryson, an over-protected kid, and his best friend, Plantzilla, Mortimer's third-grade-classroom plant. "Jerdine Nolen's creativity and vivid understanding of kids are evident in 'Plantzilla.' She connects with her audience on a playful level, and her quick wit will translate perfectly from page to screen," said Tara Sorensen, vice president of development, National Geographic Kids Entertainment. 27 April Macau Girls Farewell Party+ Touched movie by Ryan&Clayton+ Sing K瘋狂12小時!下星期就係final exam week..之後個個都各散東西了!所以我同Ange, 2個係澳門黎既女仔,係27 April 2207係ford搞左個Farewell Party!名為AngeAngel's超低能近搞笑唔弱智之Macau Double A樂趣一堆EXAM前FAREWELL DINNER 好開心!大概是多於45人參與吧!不得了!雖然冇甘多時間同曬全部一談話,但每人都有拍照留念,已是很開心了! 之後,我們最好朋友的幾個,去了Beering Hall唱karaoke!人不多,十個有多吧!因只想跟熟的朋友玩得瘋狂一點!剛開始不久, Ryan從百忙之中到來!他不愛唱karaoke既朋友也到來!哈哈…原來他是帶了一個video來的!突然他叫我們坐著, video就播出來了!不到十秒,我的眼淚不襟地流出來!而且是一發不可收拾!“有問題”!這個video是特地為我們5個而做的!Ryan + Clayton + Yijen + Angel + Ange!全是我們整個semester由相識到完結的照片和video!由其是有得多是我們在New York和Washington的!超級感動!!! 一播出來就係”一千年之後”,眼淚流得停不了!中段也好,因為是Usher的歌,後來又不行了!“ I can’t live without you!”嘩!我很久沒有在別人面前流淚了!這次還是Non-Stop流了大概半小時吧!雖然個video是15分鐘!真的很感動!
